Dr. James R. Valentine

Dr. Valentine is president and chief executive officer of Carmel Valley Manor in Carmel, California.  He received his doctor of pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles in 1959.  He also holds a masters degree in public health (MPH), hospital administration, from the University of California at Berkeley, and he is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Administrators.  His civic activities include serving as current chair of the Community Healthcare Corporation Board.  He also served twice as vice chair of the York School Board of Directors, and as vice president of finance on the Leadership Monterey Peninsula board.  He is also past president of the American Heart Association, Monterey Peninsula.
