Steven Merrell, Treasurer

Steven Merrell is a principal and co-founder of Monterey Private Wealth, Inc. An investment management professional since 1986, Steve is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and holds a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Brigham Young University.

Prior to establishing Monterey Private Wealth, Inc., Steve was the founder and chief investment officer of Willow Ridge Capital Advisors, which was recognized as one of the top 500 wealth management firms in the nation by Wealth Manager Magazine.

Steve joined the Hospice Foundation board of directors in 2009 and serves as treasurer. He also served four years on the board of directors for Community Foundation for San Benito County and was assistant treasurer on the Santa Clara County Council of Boy Scouts of America. He also served on the Investment Committee for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Monterey and was chairman of Casinos Represent A Poor Solution. Steve graduated from Brigham Young University in 1986, with a Master’s in business administration and a bachelor’s in economics. He and his wife, Jeanne, have five children and live in Hollister, Calif.
