ospice Foundation’s volunteer board of directors are
community leaders who commit their time, expertise and ideas
to help advance Hospice Foundation's mission. These
dedicated individuals represent business, agriculture,
finance, education, health care, and real estate, or are
involved in community
service and fundraising.
Board members oversee or “steward” the
activities of the Foundation. Each director brings an
important perspective to helping the Foundation fulfill its
mission, and participates on one or more of the following
board committees:
Governance – oversees the business of the Foundation;
Program & Grants – reviews proposals and makes
recommendations
for funding;
Development – develops, oversees, and implements fundraising
policies and strategies;
Community Education – conducts community outreach activities
that
foster awareness and dialogue about end of life issues and of
the
Foundation in general;
Other committees outside the board of directors are
Investment Advisory Council, Planned Giving Advisory Council,
Community Education Advisory Council, and Audit. These include professionals in the community who
volunteer their expertise to assist the board.
Each committee brings forth recommendations for action, as
appropriate, when the full board meets six times per year.
The guiding principle for all of these individual
participants is a profound commitment to ensure funds
contributed to the organization have the greatest impact
possible in supporting compassionate, end-of-life care in
the community.
