Children’s Hospice and Palliative Care Coalition
2012 Grant
$64,150
CHPCC will share a collaborative grant totaling $277,950 with Children Coastal Kids Home Care and Jacob’s Heart Children’s Cancer Support Services. These three organizations will work together to provide comprehensive care and services for critically and terminally ill children, as well as emotional, practical and bereavement support for their families in Monterey and San Benito counties.
The prospect of losing a child to a life-threatening illness is so difficult for families that navigating through the choices about care, services, specialties, medications, as well as dealing with their fears and anxieties is more than most families can bear. They are often overwhelmed by the emotions and anxiety of it all. CHPCC’s Partnership for Children program will provide transportation services for critically ill children and their families when it is difficult for them to travel on their own to San Francisco Bay Area treatment centers.
